The period says when the offer applies at all. Availability says how quickly you can respond. “Immediately” automatically falls back to “on request” after three days without confirmation — so nobody waits on an offer from last month.

Your offer appears nowhere publicly — it is neither searchable nor visible on the map. Only the matching against concrete requests reads it. That is deliberate: in a disaster, unsolicited help regularly ties up the very volunteers, storage space and vehicles needed for the urgent work. So nothing is asked for here that someone has not actually requested.
